The audience will hear both big hits like Big Yellow Taxi and Both Sides Now, as well as perhaps lesser known but not less fantastic songs by Joni. Stockholm Strings is included in the ten member band and play arrangements written by Gunilla. Please visit these links for more information about the concert and Vara Concert Hall.

Last Saturday, January 22nd, Gunilla was also a guest soloist at the gigantic farewell concert Bosse Grand Final! performed with and in honour of Bo Johansson, who retires as the conductor for Adolf Fredrik’s Girlschoir. As a former member of the choir in 1992-1995, Gunilla was invited together with eight other now professional vocalists in different genres, to each perform a song of their own choice. The night was an acceptionally memorable one with not only the soloist but of course the gigantic choir of 300 girls/women, all former members of the choir, and the now working Adolf Fredrik’s Girlschoir. The Swedish Radio SRP2 recorded and the whole concert will be aired on the 12th of February in P2 Live Klassiskt at 15.00 (CET).

New music has been created and part of it was performed at the much appreciated concerts at Glenn Miller Café in August. A new chance to hear both music from the album A Time For Everything and part of the new material comes with a concert in October 13th when she will be playing with her full band including her string quartet at the Teaterstudio Lederman. Törnfeldt dramatizes her lyrics with several pitches of her voice and the arrangements follow in her footsteps. Some things are restful, sometimes almost sacred. Other things are boisterous and drastic. In between there are some pieces that have a little of both of those states – like “Your Messages In the Night – I Don’t Want Them”. On the whole, Törnfeldt is good at joining different elements and creating a credible expression in harmony with her lyrics. She often sings to someone – perhaps a lover or a friend. In “Come With Me” she switches perspective to third person and describes the loss of a someone close. This is music with several different origins.”
